SVARTENSGATAN 7

Location: Stockholm
Area: 260 sqm
Photographer: Fredrik Sweger
Description: The idea was to capture transparency and light in a rather dark space with limited natural light. The design is futuristic with a color palette in subtle, natural colors juxtaposed with harsh fluorescent lighting. Glass surfaces, light panels and walls are covered by illustrations and typography that capture fictional environments and people in motion.

The custom components, such as shelving and the reception desk, are made out of lacquered naked MDF. Oblique angles, inspired by the number seven, appear repeatedly throughout the space, for instance, the sloping sides of the reception desk. The lighting is clustered in the center of the ceiling, with tangled cords and a sense of randomness. Svartensgatan 7 also features vintage furniture by Finnish architect Eero Saarinen.

The new interior includes a retail area, a reception, seventeen work stations, two shampoo stations and a lounge, which all together take up a total area of 260 sq meters.
